New Burwell Tourism Website Unveiled Soon

Burwell tourism is soon to have a new look and name.. to the website.

The Burwell Area/Garfield County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently contracted with Snowshoe Creations of Burwell, NE. to design a new and different website. When complete, this official Burwell area tourism website will have a completely new look and also a new address.

Tourism is the third largest income producing industry in Nebraska. Statistics indicate that tourism in the Burwell area also ranks in the top three income producing businesses. The popularity of the Burwell area can be attributed to the clean water and beauty of the Calamus Lake, hunting & fishing, people wanting to experience the "cowboy's life", its friendly people plus the unique sites and events.

Funding for the new website design is possible through the Lodging Tax generated in Garfield County. This tax is collected when a customer rents a room at a local motel or bed & breakfast, or trailer space at a campground.

CVB committee members, Peggy Haskell and Ryan Copsey, have stated, "Even though our funds are generated in Garfield County, the CVB has plans to include businesses and events from the entire Burwell/Calamus Lake area. Anyone wishing more information should give them or the Burwell Area CVB office a call.

Burwell's Official Tourism information website was created about 1991 with the address, www.burwellnebr.com.A new, and hopefully easy to remember, address will be gradually phased in with the completion the new website. Keep checking on it. www.visitburwell.com .
