The business officially opened its doors in April of 1993 on the west side of the square in Burwell and have experienced steady positive growth in their many years of its existence.
Jodee Burnham, co-owner, attributes the success of the Dry Creek Western Wear to their business philosophy. 'We really strive to provide a full service western store. We listen to our customers and try to fill their needs whether its special orders, extended hours or staying open for them if they're running late and need a special item.
The highlight of the business year of Dry Creek Western Wear is the Nebraska's Big Rodeo and the day after Thanksgiving Cattle Sale in Burwell. The two events provide the business the opportunity to run their biggest sales promotions of the year and increase the sales volume for the store.
Marketing and merchandising are also an important factory for the success of the business. Jodee Burnham, purchasing agent, attends over six markets during the year buying for the store." The Denver Western Market during the Denver Stock Show is the personal highlight of my year," Remarked Jodee. "The Denver Western Market is the largest western apparel market in the world and provides the opportunity for our business to stay current with the trends in western apparel. I buy for four different seasons and we have sales representatives stop every week at the store.
The window display at the Dry Creek Western Wear also add to the attractiveness of the business.
Karen Spanel, co-owner, adds new items and changes the displays to keep them current and inviting.
Dry Creek Western Wear is only one of the many businesses located on the square in Burwell. Jodee Burnham adds "Being positive, goal setting and hard work make our business a success. We welcome people to come in and visit our store, Just look for the Big Red Boot."
